Creating resources to help us ‘Become More Like Jesus’

The Teach Them To Obey materials on this website have been created to try and make the complexities of the New Testament more accessible to Jesus’ followers.

Over the coming months we will be sharing the results of an analysis of the whole of the New Testament from a discipleship perspective in our Systematic Discipleship work.  Our primary objective is to summarise the main teaching we find there in visual form - what we have called the “One Page New Testament”.

A series of thought pieces will be published on the Faith Articles page that will build into a potted summary of the analysis being undertaken.

Separately, we also introduce previous work that draws out, structures, and summarises all the commands of Jesus - documented and available in paperback and e-book format.

A challenge to all Christians to learn and put into practice the commands of Jesus

For years, I glossed over the word obey, perhaps because I preferred to think of the task as merely listing the commands of Christ. Teaching to obey is another thing entirely. It requires my own obedience as I make disciples. Duncan Matheson’s work in these books is vital for any Christian. He categorizes more than eighty of Jesus’s commands into three Kingdom Fundamentals and nine Kingdom Practices. This isn’t a watering down of the Scriptures; it is a simplification for the purpose of practical obedience."
